Very sad film, with a lot of metaphor. Features the hauntingly beautiful song 'Bright Eyes' as well.

This Movie is one of my earliest TV memories, and it had an impact on my young mind. I seen it around 1980, pre-cable, so it was over the air, which added a further layer of nuance to my recollection of it.

I grew up to read the book a dozen times, but they never compared to the emotional impact of Hazel's death at the end of the movie on the mind of a 5 year old boy. It made me cry, and instilled a lifelong love of rabbits.
