fucked up frame rate which might cause it to go out of sync depending on your player.

I came here to say just this. It's a fantastically well done movie. I've watched it many time and something new always pokes out for me. 10/10

how come the frame rate is messed?

Something to do with the 23.810 original frame rate may case sync issues - although I skipped through it earlier and didn't notice any out of sync scenes.

I have the retail BD so never bothered grabbing a proper version.

I read that as 1,2 GB and started dl.

12 GB. Is that a 8k 3D/VR version? :) That is overkill for just watching on a PC monitor. Not meant as a complaint though OP. Thanks for the work.

Could have been one of the great Sci-Fi movies if it were not for... (it appears spoiler tag is not active in megalinks).

Still worth a watch and very entertaining.

No, in fact you could argue that it's overkill bitrate for watching on a living room tv (from 3+ metres away). Sat with your nose poked up against a monitor (even a shitty one) demands greater bitrate... you have no idea what you're talking about.

The movie also happens to exhibit significant grain — whether from film or post, this makes for larger files when trying to preserve quality.

If you watch this film (and I hope you do - it's fantastic!), crank the audio. The soundtrack is probably one of the best OSTs in recent history. It was reused multiple times. Moon and Noah both took major parts of it.
