There was also another scene filmed for this movie that was right at the end and it was I believe Wendy and Danny in a hospital. Stanley Kubrick had all of the movie theaters that were showing the film splice off that piece of film from the end of the reel and send it back to Warner Bros. to be destroyed. It's possible that it's out there somewhere, but it hasn't been found yet.
