hope this isn't a dumb question, aspect ratio stays the same right? or does it shift with the IMAX scenes
I noticed with The Dark Knight Rises that it did change for at least once scene, though through the series I believe it is mostly consistent. Just for some shots it is 16:9.

I know, I'm asking if the IMAX filmed footage is presented in that aspect ratio on these rips or if it's all formatted to 2.4:1.
I'm sorry man, I'm outside of the US, I have no idea what IMAX is. All I know is that if they do change the aspect ratio, it isn't through stretching

Its okay
Some of the shots in the films were shot with an IMAX camera that presents 16x9 footage instead of 2.40:1, and the releases of the films usually reflect that. On Blu-ray I believe they preserved this phenomenon but I'm not entirely sure. It doesn't stretch but the dimensions of the picture changes - the anamorphic wide screen I believe will put black bars in place for the 2.40:1 shots, and then they will be filled with picture for the others, however few there may be. I'm just asking if this is how this rip is- sometimes has black bars, and sometimes not.
Oh, I think I get it now. I'll check in a minute to see if the black bars are embedded in the video

Aight man. They're only for the... smaller scale shots? They could only use the IMAX cameras for big scenes.
Sadly it's looking like the black bars are embedded in the top and bottom when 16:9 isn't used.

NO that's okay I was asking if the 16x9 was used at all or if the entire thing had black bars. Honestly I think it'd be far trickier to just keep the video the two separate aspect ratios with out. Thanks for the info!
